Road Under The Bridge

Road Under The Bridge

A Poem by Inject Positivity

Where does this road go?
Does it go to the other side of the river?
I really wish to know
Standing here on this wooden bridge
I glance over the foot marks
The same ones that crushed the grassy banks
And went into the far away road
On which I have not seen anyone treading for years
Is it the one that has stories of fairies?
Or belong to those who live on the other side of this road?
For all my childhood I have planned,
Planned to walk on that road
But till this day I have not found the courage
To discover the mysteries that are waiting,
Waiting to be revealed by my curious soul

I remember a road like that from my youth. One that was both physical and mental. From a very young age, I thought of it in my mind as the grown up road. It had too much of a big-ness in my mind, that no matter who I was with, it scared me. But now, as a "should have grown up decades ago" type of person, I think of that road and smile, every time I do something grown up, like manage to mend something instead of throwing it away and buying a new one instead, or giving someone advice that they later thank me for. I truly do think we all have that "grown up road" in our minds at all times, it is a measure of who we were and who we have become, every day of our lives.
I wish your curious soul an interesting journey my friend. Wonderful words, as always.
