You Deserve the World

I wrote this about a date that I recently went on. And something happened. And this is my response to it.

You deserve the world

And I'm sorry,

I'm sorry that it was weird, 

The running to each other.

I didn't want it to be weird, I wanted it to be perfect, just like in the movies.

I wanted it to seem like I loved you so much that everything around us disappeared and it was just you and me.

I didn't want you to feel pressured.

I wasn't ready either, and it wasn't the right time,

I know that.

So I want to apologize.

When we were sitting there,

On the roof,

So in love

You told me about anxiety,

And how it feels,

How it feels like you're never enough,

How the little voices tells you I don't really love you,

And that you don't do anything right.

Just know:

You are enough,

You are amazing,

and smart,

talented,

beautiful,

strong.

And you deserve the world,

You deserve anything and everything that you want.

I love you so much,

And you are the best person to ever walk to face of the Earth.

And you deserve someone as wonderful and charming as you are.

Because you do everything right,

You are so kind,

considerate,

gentle,

loving,

caring.

And I love you so much.

You are the sun that shines through the clouds on a rainy day,

And the first flower in spring that warms my heart.

You remind me that there is hope,

For me,

For others,

For humanity.

And you deserve the world.

I love the way you express your feelings in a straightforward way, which makes this message sound all the more heartfelt. You describe those awkward sensations we all feel at times – imagining some great smooth encounter, but then it seems we bumble along & we don’t find the words or we don’t say everything we meant to say.
