The Ripple Effect/Silence Heals the Wounded

The Ripple Effect/Silence Heals the Wounded

A Poem by Chloe

The Ripple Effect
As one strong, young man sheds a tear,
it falls to the ground
there this tear is joined by many others,
all to of their owners,
who are suffering from this one young man's sadness;
the people closest to him are damaged.

Soon a large puddle of tears begins to form
a lake, an ocean,
reaching all humans alike
As each tear falls into the ocean,
a ripple travles out to the edges of the water,
here it reaches people, who are even foreign to this one young man.
This is how sorrow is born.

Silence Heals the Wounded
As I stand in a room full of young men
a cold silence blankets me
my eyes are closed; unable to see; blind
I cannot hear a thing
have I gone deaf?

Suddenly, I begin to hear again
crashings, all around me
I open my eyes
to see a puddle on the ground
the men are crying, their tears soaking the floor
tears falling to Earth, causing me to go deaf.

If i got this right.... This would be about all the annoying people that hound someone who is grieving, while in fact they do more harm then good. and people should let the grieving have time in silence to think , reflect and heal...
Thats what i saw in these well writen words. :)

I love the imagery you bring across in your work. Even though this was about the sorrow and feelings felt for one who was cared about emensly. You have put those images into words that the reader can see and hear and even taste!
Great Write! :)

i remember alex from your story. this is beautiful, i wouldnt change a thing. the rippling, the silence, the healing. the circle. there is nothing we do or feel that doesnt somehow ripple out to another. i hope this helped you deal with missing alex somewhat. terrific write.
