The Carnival Part Two

The Carnival Part Two

A Poem by Chloe

So through the crowds you walked

a minature hand in each of your's

when the child on your left

cried for a red bag of cherry cotton candy,

hanging in a row displayed in a concession

you quickly pushed to the front of the line

your child was hungry!

So through the crowds you walked

with a minature hand in each of your's

when the child on your right

saught the booth of other children

receiving face paintings

he jumped up and cheered to cover his face

you plopped him in a vacant chair

and told the artist to do their very, very best

So throught the crowds you walked

with a minature hand in each of your's

when the children holding your hands

released themeselves and ran towards the ferris wheel,

you called their names in longing and disappointment

when they turned to witness your anger

you realized the cherry blood on your daughter's fingers

and the frowning clown on your son's face.

Part two added a whole new demension to it all. It is the adult i see that leaves in fear, fearful of things that he assumes will scare the children, but in fact they are the adults own fears, that he must deal with.
Great Work! :)
These two pieces about the carnival are by far my favorites! :)
Keep up the awesome Job! :)

am so gald to see a part two and i like this better than the first. as does the ferris wheel. so does the circle of life continue to turn, no matter how hard we try to stop it...and sure nough, children will be the billboard to advertise that fact. the ending is brilliant. two lines say it all. excellent.

What a graphic ending. Good write. Well done. We should always be aware of what we do in life.
