Pink, White, and Red

Pink, White, and Red

A Poem by Chloe
"

I wrote this on Valentine's Day.

"

Pink, white, and red

Lay in the hands of lovers

This is the day that they are allowed

To gift each other

After all,

Why break the tradition?

Have you forgotten me?

Have you forgotten me?!

I have not forgotten you,

Look at this altar, look at your many gifts

These gifts,

All of them,

They are all for you!

Many, many days

Apart from this day

I have filled this altar for you

A gift each day

It is for you!

Take it,

Please do not leave it!

Do not leave me!

Daily, daily

I present you with a gift

Two, two

One for you, one for this altar

The gift of this altar

Is for only me

It reminds me

Of all I have done for you; documents my care

But today,

The silly day of love and lovers

I extended my index finger over this altar

I counted these so many gifts

So many, so many

So why today,

Why today shall I give you a gift?

I do however

You say:

"What, what is this?

I expected a gift of

Pink, white, and red

Roses of the pain for me you have bled

I need more, more

More than just daily!

It is no longer now!

I need of you no longer,

Your gifts, your care no more"

I like this, it's kinda saying that one need love more then gifts to show adoration of another.
I know a great many people that would agree!
You have captured this issue well and with good flow.
Keep up the good work!

Very good although it does make you sound like a crazy stalker.

Yes, like Nature's Feet said. No happy ending... :( But I like it all the same. I think it is good to change things up, because naturally we are all expecting happy endings, and sometimes it is just not the case. Very good. I liked it a lot.
