Break up

Break up

A Story by iVeeBee

The girl cried through the night. It was evident from the stains of mascara on her pillow, partly wet and partly dried. The depth and pattern of black dye spoke of her pain. Obviously, she had been holding her pillow tight and close. Closer the pillow, deeper is the pain.

This did not come as a surprise to Daddy. He had expected this quite a while since it all started slowly cracking up. This was her first time. She had loved the guy so dearly that she wanted to hold on to it forever. He was in all her dreams, sometimes smiling with her, wiping her tears otherwise. She had never imagined a day without touching his hair, holding his fingers and playing with him.

Daddy had seen it as melodrama then. It took him years to realize it wasn’t one. He first decided to let her find inner peace through her tears. Of course, what can make you stronger than your own tears? But daddy knew she was too young for tears. He quickly made up his mind for talking to her.

He gently woke her up and kissed on her forehead. Even the slightest affection during weak times makes you cry even more. She did. He wiped her tears. She wanted to do it the most now. The talk.

“Why, Daddy? Why did it happen to me?”

“It happens, child. You have to realize when you lose something, you will eventually get something better.”

“How does it start? The break-up?”

This was a difficult one to answer for. How would he explain it to her gently without confusing her mind?

“Er, It starts with the…Erm…” He stumbled for words. “Age. The oldness. Everything is good when it is new. Or maybe it started with , Mm…You”

She was stunned. Not what she had really expected.

“Why me?” She asked with wide open eyes.

“Too much of love cannot always be advantageous child. It puts the pressure. You get obsessed. You took him everywhere. You introduced him to all your friends. He should have been worn out. But it’s quite natural. And you can always find something new.”

True. She thought. She wanted him around every time- through every season and every mood. It wasn’t simple to be basking in endless sun and trotting in rain. It was simply not possible for him to be around every time. And yesterday she had dumped him for he was no longer how he used to be.

Her thought process took her long back. When she had fed him on dinner table, he had messed up her dress by his playfully closed mouth. When she woke up after a tired day, his morning smile made her day. When she had wimped and cried, he never got angry with her and his smile was through always. She thought how much he loved her.

That made her want him more and more. She had grown too much obsessed with him that she could not take in when it all happened. The small crack, which she brutally made wide, for not being the same old him. He still smiled.

Now, she realized she should not have taken him for granted and should have loved him despite everything. She wanted him back. “I love you, Mac”

She ran to her garbage bin. She saw her Mac there. Like how she threw him there. Still smiling at her. Her daddy’s first gift when she was 6. It has been 4 years. She picked him up. Gently touched where the first crack came up.

She hugged him and cried. “I’m sorry for what I did. Despite this, I always love you. Will you forgive me for throwing you up?” His answer was always an yes. He showed it through his smile.

MORAL :P :P :P

Moods change. A girl’s love doesn’t :P :P :P
