A Quotation PoemA Poem by Orion ScarlettA school assignment :)Quotations If you need to say something, but aren't sure how to say it Then ask me, the quotations, and I'll relay it I'll draw from my bottomless hole of knowledge Be it information on sharks, the weather, or even college. // Looking for details from a reputable source? Turn to me, your right-hand man, I'll unearth them, of course Worried that it's plagiarism you're about to commit? Just loop me around, and like aliens I'll transmit Your data, without toppling into the copycat tar pit // And what if you're writing a brilliant book When your protagonist declares, by hook or by crook..., How do you designate that it's the hero's speech, Not the flowery descriptions, but something to preach? Just yell "Hey quotation marks, come over here!" And I'll attach to the words of soldiers, slaves, and even puppeteers // Now as you can see, I have no ideas of my own But what I bring to the table, you won't bemoan I'll help you in essays, and especially narratives My two quotation arms are essentially imperatives. © 2011 Orion ScarlettAuthor's Note
