YoumeA Poem by Ayisha Upshaw04/21/2017
Where did you go, my love?
It's been so long since I've seen your smile. Since you've waltzed around the room Humming melodies that'd never make it to words. We were so close, my love; I don't know how I lost you. I kept you tucked away Safe, Where nobody could harm you But I've failed you, my love. I'm afraid that I've failed you. The weeds began to whisper Now the wind sings songs of the dreams you left behind Knowing you'll follow every note. Knowing you have trouble letting go. But only your absence could call for sacrifice. Could cause leaves to leap from their branches And give their lives to get me back to you. Youme, my love. Could you be my love> You... Me; My love.
