Steps BackA Poem by I.F.W. DavisWritten: 2011-2013 x Edited: 2024
I thought you’d notice;
but I know it’s hard sometimes, we’ve all been so busy. I couldn’t have told you all the things you ask of others now, but I could have tried. Now every word we let escape wounds a little bit faster, and even the best lie I never came up with wouldn’t wash the bitterness from your tongue. Tension breaks with baby steps teeth share stains as coordination f a l l s apart… we don’t dance like we used to. © 2024 I.F.W. Davis |
