Life Time

Life Time

A Poem by Aditya Warrier

We live in hard times

Hard are these times

No one values these times

Not even I

Who writes in these times

Different is becoming an outcast

Something that isn't new to me

But, rather something that's

Getting too old for my body

Which is tired of sitting on the side-lines

The windows are getting blurrier

All we care is what's inside our own made up world

Not the beauty that's meant to be captured outside

A lot of ‘Sorrys’ and ‘Thank Yous’ have been wasted on nothing

Now we wish there were more of them

Now beginnings don’t exist anymore

Helping hands are a rarity

There's hardly any light in the alley

But, what the hell right?

Life is meant to be hard

Meant to make us tough to break the walls

Still, we try to find the easier way

Why? Because we're weak? No

Fear's our enemy. Fear of getting hit

Hit hard and be strong forever

Yet, we hope for tomorrow

For that one day when

We don't have to care

And just look at the sunset

And be content from the warmth

Warmth of the sun and the one sitting beside you

Even if there's no one beside you

You still hope

That's the only way you stay human

And the human can ultimately find you.
