If I could push a button and rewind our time together

I’d go back to the beginning to that second week in November

I’d go back to the day when I first looked into your eyes

To the time you asked to hold my hand for the very first time.

 

I’d go back to the time when we just sat and talked

I would try to get inside your mind and learn your every thought

If I could push a button and rewind our time together

I’d go back to the cold day in December

When you asked me to leave and come with you

I’d take your hand and know that together we could make it through

 

I’d rewind back to the time when we made each other laugh and smile

I’d take that time and place it into the here and now

But since I didn’t get to know you for who you were inside

I’ll leave things as they are

And maybe one day in the future we can give it another try.
