What's wrong with murder?

What's wrong with murder?

It's not something that most people would think about.  Why is murder wrong?

I don't know your standpoint, of course, but I hope there's more to it than because "it's wrong."

"Murder is wrong because I said so, or because someone told me so."  Fine and dandy.  I say it's not.  Argument invalidated.

Now, I've asked my sources and they've told me that they don't really have an answer.

Fortunately, I picked up their slack.

"I wouldn't want them to do it to me."  Yes, that's it right there.  The one reason I can think of.  "I don't kill people because other people would kill me or put me in jail."  Or, in other words, "I don't kill people because society is holding me down, man."

That's right, people.  You've been deceived.  Brainwashed by society into assigning right and wrong to purely legal matters.  Are you going to stand for that?  If you do, then what's next?  They'll take your rights to steal and rape and kidnap.

Oh wait, they already have!

And after that, what's next?  Hitler used the same method, you know.  Take one thing at a time and the people will never realize they have nothing.

Fight oppression.  Kill someone TODAY!

personally, i could never kill anyone.
[note that i say personally. my personal opinion, i am not saying that it is right or wrong, it is just what i Believe.]

there have been times where i have been furious enough to say i want someone dead, and once went so far as to devise a rather painful death for this one person... [it involved a two cars, a bus and a truck. you figure it out.]

but then one day i took a step back, thought about the implications of taking someones life. by killing someone, you are pretty much saying you have the right to take their life, and that you have the right to decide whether they are 'good enough' to live or die.

in other words: you are playing god.
{no, i am not religious, it is a figure of speech which fits in this situation.}

on top of this, i could not deal with the guilt.
to know i took the life of someones brother/sister, husband/wife, friend, son/daughter... i would have torn apart a family out of selfish motives.

i would not be able to live with myself after that.

i like this piece because it tackles a subject not many talk about candidly: murder. as a general rule, whenever this 'grisly' act is mentioned it is in the context of a murder mystery... or some text of the like.

not often to you come across something asking you to think about murder, asking for your standpoint and asking you to back it up past the standard answer [which comes from a sense of morality...] of 'it is wrong.'

so even though i do not agree with your opinions, i appreciate the content you're covering, and the questions you have us ask ourselves.

Perhaps you should start with yourself. It is attitudes like yours that cause the problems of mankiind.
