What I try to say never comes out right.

I guess all along, I’ve been trying to find a new way to say I love you.

And I guess all along I was afraid to lose you.

Now you’re slipping away and you’re leaving me broken and yet strong…

I just want to give you something

I’ve been wanting to give you for years: My heart.

And I can’t get you back as much as I can’t change your mind.

I guess all along, I’ve been trying to find a new way to say I need you.

And I guess all along I was sick of hurting you.

Now I’m letting you slip away and it’s leaving me broken and yet strong.

I don’t know what I’m saying anymore.

I don’t know how to say anything right.

I guess it’s better this way,

Just a farewell until next time.

So…am I saying this right?

Am I saying ‘I love you’ loud enough for you to hear?

And I’m saying ‘You’ll be the death of me’ clearer that crystal?

All along, I didn’t know what I was getting into.

I think I know now.

I was falling in love with words that said what I couldn’t.

I was falling in love with you.
