A New Path (Version 1)A Poem by xXxCynicalWarsxXxI’m leaving the same way I came in, Looking forward but I can’t see straight. And it’s the fire that’s around me, A path of skeletons I’m to cross again. I’m dressed in red as blood. It’s just like I know where I’m going, Just like me to retreat and throw my hands up. But these hands hard bound by barbwire by the wrists, Held to yours as the fire licks the white moon. ‘Hey, everything’s alright,’ so you’ve said before. ‘But will we ever love again?’ I just had to ask. You take my eyes out of the black sockets in my face, Yeah, you take them out and make the exchange. ‘See what I see, and you shall know,’ you tell me so darkly. And all I see is white glowing mixing with a bright red. All I see are the tears I’ve cried, and the sorrows swell up, Vanish into death, and the joy of love come alive. I follow you through the light until it’s dark as night. Yeah, I was leaving the same way I came in, Looking forward but I couldn’t see straight. Now I’ve got this crystal vision, And we’re going down a path of rose petals And weeping willows. © 2011 xXxCynicalWarsxXxAuthor's Note
