Carry The Light.

Carry The Light.

A Poem by xXxCynicalWarsxXx
"

It's about a man who's disappearing from my life, and I am always and forever here, waiting for the day we'll pass on, together.

"

Yeah, I loved him more than he could know.

And maybe I depended on him too much,

But I’m doing good now, on my own.

He still lurks in my head when I close my eyes to sleep,

When I open them as I wake,

And his eternal feelings I can’t seem to shake.

I grab up these words from the depths of my soul,

Carry them to the world ahead.

No.

Don’t follow me into the light,

Don’t beg me to stay.

I’m going to where my love is.

To tell him all the reasons I smile.

To tell him all the reasons I love him so damn much.

To tell he’s everything to me,

But I don’t have to be everything to him.

I just need to know he’s still alive.

Yeah, I loved him more than he could know.

It seems like it sometimes, don't it?
I like the way this reads; not too morose or maudlin.
