Reaching the Night BlissA Poem by xXxCynicalWarsxXxIf only this was possible...I stare up at the black night sky, and I close my dead amber eyes. I think of Your words as I extend my arms, As the cool sea breeze weaves through my hair, As the saddest smile crosses my lips. I feel the words You said ringing through my hollow body Filling me reassurance, a painful love that is sure to never die. But there is a despair from the pain I caused You. The anger to myself for causing You agony, For being a child is overwhelming, And my lips quiver into a contorted sorrowful expression. I collapse to my knees, shake my head slowly, whispering, "No...Why does it have to be this way?...No...Why does love hurt me so?" I grip the sand with shaking fist, Feeling the cool grains slip through my fingers just like You did. Icy ocean waves ripple through me, Knock me down, and pull me towards You. I smile as the water brings me to Your door. I grap the handle, turn so slowly, and swing it wide, A bright room to engulf me. I feel arms embrace me, and collapse into the warm body that is Yours. Your love was all I needed to reach bliss. © 2011 xXxCynicalWarsxXx |
