Words Are LIke "What Ifs", BUT Yours...A Poem by xXxCynicalWarsxXxWords remain ever the same: A scary thought of the dark, A refreshing swell of love at You But the doubt ever lingers "What if I am not loved?" "What if I am?" "What if He's playing my emotions?" "What if Mom really does care?" "What if Dad does too?" "What if...the worst thing happens: You leave my life?" Words reamin as a scary thought But when yours flow from your full pink lips The lips that call me yours, The voice that eats away my despair, My "What ifs" wash away. They're just words that mean only fear in my eyes But worry in yours and I would never want you to worry. I only wish the best for you Because your "What ifs" are actually promises: "What if I came to you?" "What if we fell from Heaven together Never to depart?" "What if my up is yours, my down is yours, My life and heart is one with yours?" These I call words of the colorful sky, So vivid and entwined. What ifs shall be promises of only the good. If anything else, they are lies. © 2011 xXxCynicalWarsxXxAuthor's Note
