Smothered Out.

Smothered Out.

A Poem by xXxCynicalWarsxXx

I hear another echo, and decide to look back.
It's just my mind reminding me of what I left.

I hear the sounds to come home,
But I'm afraid I can't be alone.

I said to slow it down and start again.
Be more than a distant friend,

Please.
You mean more to me

Than I can ever say.
Please love me, it's okay.

I can still be what I wanted when I met you:
A lover, a close step to heaven in all we do.

It's just medicine and sympathy.
I'm sorry, I don't feel like you know me.

And when I looked back that night,
Your tear filled eyes

Brought my trembling legs to their knees,
And I now know what it means

To fall in love and out of grace,
To want my child to have your face.

I hear another echo, and decide to look back.
It's just my mind reminding me of what I left.
