Owls are laughing like children singing
The trees want to touch me like you do
The snow wants to take me to Heaven
Like you carry me up higher when we hum love softly
Now there's a Canary on my windowsill
Singing a song that you played for me
Last week when the sun wasn't around
Why is the sky so dark tonight?
Wish you still held my hand, fireflies have me scared
The air chills me like Annabell Lee
And I'm still looking for the roses you left me
The poor little Canary never went home
Fell to the dust when I screamed in tears
Why have the owls stopped laughing like children singing?
