The bright side of a dark mind

I hear it's a bad frame of mind,
To think of it constantly.
I'm often worried,
About how happy it makes me.

I see it in my dreams,
When my heart's all beated.
My face discovers how to smile,
When my body's defeated.

But I can be patient,
I'm in no rush.
I can wait for the moment,
When shove returns to push.

You say it's a negative way to be,
But I think it can be a boon,
Because all of us know,
Our time's coming soon.

The only difference being,
When my life comes to an end,
I shan't be afraid.
I'll greet it like a friend.
