Gothic Defibrillation

Gothic Defibrillation

A Poem by HyperScaree

Down in the sea, down in the sea.
I see the sun rising up over me.
I feel the chills of the danger below.
My hands shake at the darkness so low.

I would try to rise above the dark.
But a dangerous adventure I have to embark.
I see the things I have to endure.
But I'll be OK, for now I'm sure.

I see a lighthouse and go with delight.
My happiness shines as I follow the light.
I try to make it there faster than 'fore.
I say in my head "I'll make it I'm sure".

I climb onto land and walk above.
My eyes glitter with sight of a dove.
On top the lighthouse guiding me there.
I see it, I wonder "follow me where?"

I knock on the door with a loud thump.
I hurt and I need to sit on my rump.
No one did answer on that night unfair..
The door was unlocked so I went there.

I walked in the door and went up the stairs.
Hearing footsteps behind me I ran faster than 'fore.
Into the deep dark lair which I stared.
Into the light from the top o'er there.

Little I knew I was just lured.
The dove was a pet of the master aboard.
He pushed me off and let out a smile.
Now I knew that I was beguiled.

Into the light, and back again.
