she died in the same manner.

she died in the same manner.

A Poem by Huw

She was screaming inside

so loud she thought her head might explode

So much going through her mind

nonstop tsunami of thought

carrying the flotsam of anguish

guilt, shame and fear.

She couldn’t shake the feelings off.

Nothing was working to ease the turmoil

the crushing sensation gave no let up.

She grabbed the car keys just before slamming the door

she drove through the mist that tears cause

and the deep fog of her mind.

No more, no more I can’t go on

why me what have I done to deserve this?

No more, no more please let it stop.

She found herself driving outside of Town

on a narrow road and she knew she was speeding

she didn’t care, didn’t care.

no more, no more….

Lights approaching on a straight section of road

she focused on the lights and at the last moment

she swerved directly into their path

She gave no thought to the driver or passengers

she had led a selfish life not caring about others

she died in the same manner.

About
I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
