and everyone else...

and everyone else...

A Poem by Huw

For a man to be taken to the brink of destruction

is an unforgettable experience and if the man

is effectually humbled by the visit, he will find

to his amazement, that he has been filled with hope

and is suddenly, for the very first time, at peace

with his Maker, himself and everyone else...

I have heard it said you have not lived until you have almost died. This work seems to reflect that philosophy. We tend to forget the greater truths in the face of adverse circumstances. If we're lucky, they remind us of them. Well done.

I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
