The evaporating dream?

If you think the rain blowing

in your face is sent to annoy you

and cause you misery, you are right.

If you think your co-workers 

are only there to make you

sigh in disgruntled desperation

then you suspicions are accurate.

If you think your children are only 

here to cause you greater distress

than you ever thought possible

then your perceptions are true

Your sufferings are not unusual

most people are clever at denying

them and putting on a brave face

but their misery is also tangible 

Are your fears preventing any peace

is your mind a clutter of thoughts

are they seemingly compressing 

your very being in a steel grip

Is that dream you chase

just beyond your grasp

does it slip away 

or just evaporate
