"AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT".

"AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT".

A Poem by Huw

There is no-one that can convince

a man that there is a strait gate.

There is nothing

that can prepare a man

for the experience of finding

the strait gate.

Anything he has heard

or read or dreamt about

fails to convey the delight.

It is found by those who were not seeking

so the discovery is a revelation

that affords but one conclusion

and the conclusion means that he is

in the process of passing through

that strait gate that few find

and that leads to life.

Within a few breaths

he is through

and looking at a path

that is laid and prepared

for him to walk

He finds himself placing one foot

in front of the other

and repeating the process

as he moves through time, by trust,

on the way to an eternal destination…

“And few there be that find it”…

I found the strait gate at 10:30am on July 17th 1999. I wasn't looking, seeking, wanting nor asking, but there it was and I was through.

About
I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
