I made the decision
the choice was made
that I would make you
the happiest woman
on earth.
I soon realised
you were by nature
woe-man and there
was no-one on earth
who could change that.
In misery and despondency
you layered your nest
even despising your house
the house you built
Buying and disposing
of men you called friends.
Filling your house
with wine drinkers
who would encourage
your silly schemes,
pass me the bottle,
more wine!
In truth you hated
the mess they left behind
just as I hated the stench
of stale wine, cheap wine.
Having failed in human
relationships you tried
bonding with animals
but you couldn't bond
with the fox who tore
your dreams apart.
The ring is still
in the window
the mud is still
on the boots.
You said that
you are dying
in so doing
you increase your
personal woe.
News flash!
we are all dying.
Do you think
you'll be missed?
Your pets will
have someone else
to feed them
they'll forget you
as I shall one day.
