Walked this way.

Walked this way.

A Poem by Huw

I'd passed through

a very straight gate

some time ago.

The path

I was now on

was very narrow indeed.

There was a broader path

running parallel to mine

and the people over there

would call to me,

''Come over to us

we've plenty of room''.

I never went

it didn't seem safe

and although they pretended

they were enjoying

I could see their misery.

I wondered at the outset

if this narrow way

was the right path?

Then I'd see a sign

that someone else had left.

Ancient pen men had

left many a confirmation,

a map of sorts,

that I would refer to

and discover that others

have indeed walked this way.

About
I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
