The intents therein.

The intents therein.

A Poem by Huw

The first battle took time

and seemed at times to be

hopelessly lost.

The battle to conquer speech

To avoid words of bitterness

words of complaint and anger.

Despicable words that mothers

should not hear and children

should never be taught.

The battle never truly won

the warfare does continue

the resistance found in the mind

and not on the lips.

To conquer the mind and the

thoughts of the mind

seemed to be futility itself.

Circumstances often demanding

responses that flew as fast as light

through the ventricles seemingly

dismissing human wit and will.

Out of futility hope sprang

as thoughts came under control

and a semblance of order began

to exist. The battle of words

was advanced by the warfare with thoughts.

There reigned peace for a while,

but not perfect peace,

an infiltration had taken place.

A fifth column was discovered

through an intricate search of the will.

It undermined the previous warfare

and threatened to destroy

the fortifications from within.

The battle is in ernest

it continues to this day

a meticulous thought by thought,

word by word and deed by deed

search for the intents therein.

About
I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
