I felt sorry for the driver.

I felt sorry for the driver.

A Poem by Huw

''Come with me I want a chat with you!''

and led him down the lane.

Another came along behind and

threw the first punch to the back of his head.

From that moment on for 30 seconds

there came a rain of blows and boots

that left him bloody and bruised.

He was aware they didn't like him

from the often sly remarks

but this was serious and it hurt.

Forty four years later

''come with me'' must have heard

similar words in his mind as he walked onto

the railway track and sat down.

In his dark despair and loneliness he waited.

He didn't need to wait for long.

I felt sorry for the driver....

About
I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
