Investing his time in others.

Investing his time in others.

A Poem by Huw
"

Some observations...while I had the time.

"

Every second in every minute

of every hour, every day

1.8 people leave time

and enter eternity ''they shuffle

off this mortal coil''...as the man said,

''they die once and go to judgement''...as the other man said.

Life is terminal

life is short

most people never

experience life

they simply exist wishing their time away.

Time can be wasted

time can be saved

time can be invested

time can be spent

man is inevitably a slave to time.

There are never enough hours in a day

for the man in a rush.

His time is his own and not

to be spent on others.

Chop, chop, busy, busy whack, whack, bang, bang.

In the morning man longs for the evening

in the night he longs for the morning.

He wishes his time away longing

for the week to be over

so he can enjoy the weakend.

There is no peace for the wicked

there is rest for the wise

where is the wise and prudent man?

enjoying his time on earth

investing his time in others.

i quite like this piece....and the theme reminds me much of emily dickinson's "because i could not stop for death"
too busy even to die, the gentleman caller has to come and interrupt her hurry----
sometimes we just can't enjoy a moment because we are rushing too much to fill each one.

I've been commenting on someone's drawings for a couple of months and she asked if I was a published poet. It made me laugh because I'd left school at 13 years old and never completed formal education.. more..
