Distillation Tick

Distillation Tick

A Poem by Husk
"

Forcibly latched

"

Forcibly latched as a consequence

of its naivete,

the tick methodically extracted

the ill combustibles

from deep within the asbestos

Forcibly latched as a consequence

of its ailment,

the trail leading towards the frail glowed

with a darker mode

that attracted those growing wise

Latched as a consequence

of its sight,

the tick lied and festered

with jest his immunity

to the vile ferocity of its outsider lecturers

Latched,

the assimilated yet independent scholar

volunteered away its 'sanity'

as an adaptation to make itself sane
