Moon Egg

Moon Egg

A Poem by Rae
"

..devour the moon.

"

Boil the moon like an egg,

crack it open and dig out the insides.

Feast on that moon egg knowing it is the last.

Carelessly let crumbs fall to be swept away and lost.

Do not care that no one else will ever know its taste

or that it will never be seen again.

Few will notice it is gone.

Be a proud moon eater;

the first and last to appreciate moon flavor.

The dark sky at night will be a gift to the world.
