Cottage

Cottage

A Poem by Heather

Cottage

Beautiful fields in front of the cottage

Cottage is made of wood logs

The beach near it is crisp and cool in the morning

The cottage is warm

With the smell of waffles roaming each room for breakfast

The best time to get to the cottage is in the summer

There are many activities to do

My favorites activity to do is tubing

It’s the best in the summer because nobody is being lazy

Lazy in terms of not being active and watching endless hours of tv

The best moment when at the cottage

Is the bonfire

This is because

Everyone

Whether family, friends or neighbors

All come together

And bond

Underneath the stars

Horror stories are being told

Songs are being sung

Dancing is happening

Smores are being created

This place is also significant

Because we get away from the chaos in reality

And have some peace

The best part of going to the cottage is that there is no need for technology

And since there is not many signals for the "Wi-Fi" using devices

Also at the cottage there are many forest-like paths

In these paths, is an area that you can clear out your mind

From your troubles

This I feel is the best therapy

Because you don’t have a therapist with you and make you feel

That you are being judged

I also believe this is a place where reconciliations can take place

cool imagery and cool message

Thank you, what a nice image to share! I think the modification that could help your poem the most would be to find better verbs. You use the verb "to be" in your poem an awful lot ("is," "are"), and this verb is often considered the weakest verb to use in writing. "The smell of waffles ROAMING each room for breakfast" is a wonderful, powerful, original image because of the active verb you use. Try to do that in all of your other lines!
