Creature From The Black Hole Lagoon

Creature From The Black Hole Lagoon

A Poem by ?:

Breaching the surface
Gasping for air
Surrounded by the most surreal misfits and minstrels

We shared a vision
For but an instant
Countless voices in cacophonous polyphony

The intangible inclination
The singularity before the big bang
Inverse expansion
Years spent trying to recoalesce

We raced towards that pestilent mirage
Like it was full of candy and fame
And one by one
All my favorite freaks fell out of frame

Went for a dip in the black lagoon
And drowned in a holographic world
As I sunk, everything above shrank past the event horizon
You cannot define what you cant describe
You cannot advance if youre not aligned
The light I saw was nothing special, just background radiation

When some people leave their body
They find nirvana
Become one with everything
Whatever the hell that may be

Guess I wasn't quite so lucky
Experienced having never existed at all
No shred of sentience
No time, no colour, just absence

A whole non-linear lifetime later
Rubbed my eyes and saw the room pixelated and burning
This'll have to make do for now

I filled those holes in with kaleidoscopic patterns
And woke up at the start of this song
(What time is it?
How long was I out for?)

Went for a dip in the black lagoon
And drowned in a holographic world
As I sunk, everything I loved shrank past the event horizon
You cannot attain what you cant actualize
You cannot retain what you dont realize
The light I saw was nothing special,
Just the cosmic microwave background radiation
