Age of the GIFA Poem by ?:
Set off into the unseasonable lapse of weather
Through fog denser than a climate change denier's skull I stand where sea and sky are smudged; all outlines dissipate It looks like the horizon got pissed off and ran away I hate to sleep, prefer to dance in circadian rhythm She feels her heartbeat in the iris of her eye Its taxing in a sense both figurative and literal The way our bodies break so we can stay alive I don't think I can wait Decades for all the old ways to die We lie in hypnagogic state Can't agree enough to organize The spread of reason Ends without liason The Information Age itself will one day be replaced We are the snake that eats itself It fractals and repeats Every eternal reoccurance somehow stranger than the last But writing songs about corruption won't change anyone's minds At best your friends and listeners already agree The opposition laughs, your best efforts just feed the fire How can so many people think society peaked in 1983? Logic has no business here Cognitive dissonance prevails Think you've come to learn? Go on and bask in the advertisements We all love to pontificate And pretend we are intricate But we all wear a tourniquette Around our respect and etiquette Fact Defunct Graveyard of data whirlpools all around De facto Disjunct Analytical Charybdis swallows every sound We, the Anthropocene, Breathe and breed the future Between reality and memes, I've forgot what's funny anymore © 2018 ?: |
