Mermaid

Loud music blares through the club, a lone girl is on the dance floor dancing, the mirror ball spinning and reflecting lights all over the room. The girl dancing like there is no tomorrow, “They are all looking at me, Yes!! Look at me dance!!” The girl said in her heart, “Give me all your attention!! I want even more!!” She steps back to the bar and drinks more.

“I will be the disco queen of love tonight!!” The girl says while eyeing everyone in the disco club with the shots of alcohol, she slowly becomes a mermaid queen, dancing like a mermaid swimming through the ocean, she slowly creeps back to the bar and looks at her pager in sadness then looks back into the crowd.

“I won’t be a clown anymore, I don’t want to play a supporting role, I want to shine bright on that stage. I am a woman after all, I need to be noticed by everyone around me”

She continues back on the dance floor and dances like she means it, “Tomorrow this mirror ball will shine onto another girl, I must take all of this attention tonight for myself” Dancing like a mermaid who has lost her way home, a man creeps behind her and offers to dance with her.

“Would you like to dance with me?” The man says with a roguish look in his eyes, the girl with a glassed-eyed expression looks at the man with hope and says “You’ll dance with me?” “Of course I will, you looked beautiful tonight” The man says with soft eyes. Dancing together, the girl feels seduced by the words of the man.

With the spotlight now on the pair, they keep dancing till there is no tomorrow, “I’ll be your hero and you’ll be my heroine” The silver-tongued devil spoke, she looked at him with eyes of a lover before being pulled away by two girls.

“No no, what are you two doing? This is my chance!!” She says while being dragged off by the two girls. Once she was dragged into the office of the disco club, one of the girls said “You have to be careful of that man, he takes advantage of girls in our club.” “Oh… But he said that he would want to dance with me.” the girl said.

One of the two girls introduced themselves as the owner and co-owner of an all-girls club which owns the current club that they are in right now, “You should come to our club, here” one of the girls hands her a card, “This will act as your membership card to our special club, you can be in the limelight all you want in our club.”

A few days have passed, the girl has been dancing in the all-girls club, “I shall be the heroine of my own story!!”
