The silliest poem I ever wrote.

The silliest poem I ever wrote.

A Poem by Relic

Before Writers Cafe, I wrote as Palewriter on a site called Booksie.
An Ice Cream Poem was my first big hit as a amateur poet and it's still going strong at 24,000 views and 100 reviews.
It's silly but the younger crowd liked it.

I'm rarely there anymore.

The moral:
Sometimes the faster writings - the ones without much effort - become the best ones. Weird.

I read it! https://www.booksie.com/posting/palewriter/an-ice-cream-poem-94579

I really like that you advise to brush the teeth. That final verse killed it!
Awesome!

haha, thanks so much for reading this, I forgot all about it. :)
Hi Tim, I read it and can understand its appeal. I mean everyone surely has a soft spot for ice cream? The simplicity of both ice-cream and your poem delights. Well done you, just goes to show that what you call silly has a place in our hearts:)

Thanks for comment, Chris. You make a good point. :)
Ogden Nash and Edward Lear did quite well as poets with silly poems. It's always best not to take things too seriously, after all. Hope your week is off to a great start.

I hope yours is to, Fabian. Thanks. :)
You might consider sending your silly poems to The New Yorker, as much of what they post falls in that category. Just make sure they are not understandable. They favor that.

LOL I'll keep that in mind, John. Thanks. :)
I used to write like it was some type of magic, but it wasn't.
They hardly got any views, which, honestly, I was fine with.
They are my best.

Welcome...
It’s amazing how sometimes the ones we least expect people to like is the one that does the best. All depends what mood people are in and if the need a bit of joy and laughter or passion and so on
