A Dreamy Afternoon?

A Dreamy Afternoon?

A Poem by Relic
"

The ending has been slightly changed recently.

"
Her gaze focused on a plush garden
diffused with reds and blues.

She felt a gust of summer breeze
on her dress inside the gazebo.

The plush lawn beside the clear running stream
held spots of suffused sunlight.

Embers of dandelions fell.

Pearly gates couldn't be far away.

But the dandelions turned to snow
as they fell on the air conditioner
outside the window.

She turned to make him supper,
preparing for his berating,
for the drunken chastisement
over anything.

When fantasy is broken,
cold reality is often cruel.

Thank you, Thomas.
Sometimes it is the only safe place to be, in a fantasy that makes a mockery of their reality, from the person that claims to love them.
Your words really make me hope that karma exists, because for one of them there will be eternal payback and for the other she might finally get the reality of what her fantasy once was.

There are many like her, Lorry. For some reason they choose the worst guys. Thanks for the comment.
Really like all the imagery used in this poem, made it flow nicely even though it explores how moments of tranquility and beauty can be overshadowed by personal struggles and emotional turmoil.

Nor can I, Cowboy. Thanks for reading.
A nice write Tim. Subtle Monet shades and how rude is reality when it bites.

Thank you, andrew.
What a lovely scene you paint with your words. I studied Kinkade in art appreciation in not a very favorable light, though, I might add. It mainly dealt with his marketing strategies and mass production of scenic creations. But your poem is a unique creation of art in and of itself. I enjoyed.

I appreciate your comment, Fabian. Thank you.
Many a time I've been deep into a story or project to find hungry children waiting to be feed.
I live this poem. I believe a poet came up with the idea of fruit and cheese tray fast and easy.

Thank you, Becks. :)
Reality always have to interrupt our fantasies... don't they?! I enjoyed this Dreamy piece you've written of a beautiful, enchanting garden. The woman feels at peace with herself but sadly it's all interrupted by the snow fall. How rude! I love, love, love the art ou accompanied with the powm, it's so colourful and pretty!! A real paradise! Thank you for sharing, Relic I enjoyed reading!
