Out for a little stroll.

Out for a little stroll.

A Poem by Relic

A fault-line foot funambulist
Should consider seizing stability
By avoiding lofty skyscrapers
On fluctuating soil.

He knows that risky real estate
Can palpitate and fluctuate
From bouncing ball tectonic plates
Where streetlights
lurch and lean.

Whitewashed walls
stretch overwrought;
Vehicles veer
their charted course
And 'knit one, pearl two' plans are lost
when rubble rains the sky.

But a saint of slide-shoe gravity
Won't always harmonize and heed.
He's apt to be out above the ground
ready for a little stroll.

Author's Note

Relic
In 1974, daredevil Philippe Petit walked across a wire spanned across the top of the world trade center in New York City. I've been reading about earthquakes and wondered if he would care if one happened during his walk. :)

Damn if I didn't read this just to see if the dude fell, glad he made it. You really get the sense he is barely hanging on

'Out for little walk'
Relic,
Brave to live, to push forward..high winds when one foot in front of the other-Not knowing, no guarantee. To fail, to not, to cry, to ache..what will it be. This is life..it can be for anyone willing to step out on the wire.
The music, the author's note was very welcome. A nice bit of cultural history lesson.
Thanks
Blessings,
Kathy

I thought about that when I picked the video.
I remember this. A long time ago. Also New York city. Hidden winds and a long way to fall. Many people love to test life. Philippe did. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.
