The Moon Shone Through Her Window

The Moon Shone Through Her Window

A Poem by Relic

73 of 365

She nestled her head like some moonlight sliver
on my shoulder.

As I plagiarized the warmth of the fading sun,
I pulled her against me;
my lust rising like mercury.

Maneuvering magical motions in shadows,
the full moon traced its light on the floor
as we rolled on wool woven horses,
and the night slipped away without our noticing.

Oh, you ol' romantic, you. "Rolled on woven horses..." It's all so very creative, but I think that line is going to stick with me.

Hi Relic. Ah . . . so soft and sensual . . . yet I can feel the latent sexuality hidden beneath an overlay of subtlety. Love the impact of a short poem without need to overembellish!!!!! Succinct in the telling and a pure delight to read!! alf

Romantic and sensual are your words that give me cause to seek the moon and dream of a time as this........they are so very beautiful! Every line is enjoyed, but I particularly am drawn to the woven horses - ah, yes so sensual!
