To the Grave

To the Grave

A Poem by Chad

For what it's worth, it was worth every wasted second, every heartbroken moment. At least I had a heart to break and not a hole to sorely ache. We were happy once. Remember us that way, for memories live forever, and I shall carry them to my grave. Every wasted second, every breathtaking moment. At least I had a breath to take without the fear I may suffocate. No, you provided no reason for such agony, such anguish. Misfortune and fate came hand in hand, like you and I. Surely, you did not mean for such misfortune to make itself seen. I have known much worse. Yet, still, I curse the day treason provided a reason for such agony, such anguish. At least I had a heart to break and I shall carry it to my grave.
