Hollow

Hollow

A Poem by Chad
"

I'm sorry.

"

Should have been there giving you everything I had. Love had other plans. I would’ve kept you forever, but you never kept yourself close. We never really held hands, though they met more than once. Can you forgive me? Can I forgive myself? I would’ve kept you forever, but I never kept you close. I looked but never saw how beautiful you really were. Love had other plans, and so did you. I should have been there giving you everything I had, but I kept it forever and never kept you close. I never knew just how much I had and now it’s gone, and I would’ve kept it forever. I cannot forgive myself. Can you? Please say yes. For the deepest regions of my heart harbor a most hollow sorrow. You held out your hand and I held out my hollow heart. I would’ve gave you everything I had, if I even had anything to give.
