The Hourglass is Empty

The Hourglass is Empty

A Poem by Chad
"

As is my heart...

"

I’ve given up, God. You win. The line has been crossed, but for the sake of my soul, how much further must I go before the line is farther behind me than it was in front? How much time must be wasted before the hourglass is empty? Before I, myself, become the sand inside. How far do I have to go to let you know just how much I truly tried? Truly, does it matter? Smite me God, for i’ve given up. The line has been crossed and it’s so far behind. My heart has resigned, it’s so hard to find reason when there’s nothing left to find.
