Empty

Empty

A Poem by Chad
"

Forgotten, but not forgiven.

"

Oh, how dark of a day i’ve stumbled upon. How empty a heart I hold in my chest. Blessed with nothing but the rest of what’s left in it. Needless to say, it’s as empty as the bottle in my hand, as empty as the road before me which, like my life, just passes by before my eyes. I wish I could see my life, see where i’m going, see where i’ve been. Yet, darkness has blinded me. Oh, how dark of a day i’ve stumbled upon. How long a road that lay before me. If the darkness drifted away and I could see again, would you still be walking beside me, or will I have left you behind me? If the path had split somwhere in the past, the only thing I ask is that we never find our way back.
