Don't Forget All The Laughs

Don't Forget All The Laughs

A Poem by Jami Nicole

I could go back to all the laughs
But I realized I don't miss them at all.
I could stand up and sing you a song
But it wouldn't be about loving you.
I could say I miss the fun time we had
But I don't want to lie through closed teeth.
My window is still open
And I'm right here hoping
You'll come in with the rain.
I'll never stop loving you
But baby we're through.
I'll always be sad to see you go,
No matter how often you come to me.
I don't mean to pick a fight,
But I need to feel something.
I'm sorry I'm not what you wanted
And I'm sorry you walked away.
I'm sorry I found out about her too.
But my window is always open.
I'm still here hoping
You'll come in with the rain.
You came away with a great little story
Of a mess of a dreamer with the nerve to adore you.
I wasted my time crying for you.
