Sad Beautiful Tragic

i know you miss me
and i thought i missed you too
it's amazing how little words mean
when you're a little too late
almost a year later has passed
since our constant on and off
distance and timing and breakdowns and fighting
i look back on it now
and i feel numb
rumor has it you fell apart
you created a hole
and your in too deep
drinking and smoking and overworked
you've still got my old stuffed dragon
i hope it reminds you of me
when you get lonely
when you get drunk
when you get high
you always text me
you always tell me about the mess we left behind
asking if i'd like to try again with you
i hope you find someone who can make you happy
and i hope you'll still wonder about me

Written for someone who used to be special to me. I really hope you can find someone who can make you as happy as I am with him.

It was titled after the song that gave me the inspiration for this poem.
