The Dark Intruder

A dark intruder comes and gets Nicole and Noel

      A figure crept through the woods at midnight. He was so quiet that a deer he came upon was started. Stopping, he pulled out a map and checked it, then put it away with a nod. He turned and headed for the big oak tree with a huge house perched in it's arms. He grabbed the rope used for getting to the house and started scaling the tree. Halfway up, he stopped to adjust his pant leg that had slid up. When he reached the top of the tree, he slid into the house and crept soundlessly through the rooms, searching. Finally he found Nicole and Noel's bed rooms. Creeping over, he lightly touched each twin on the shoulder. He saw both of them wake with a jump, then immediately looking around. Good, he thought, they'll make good spies. Suddenly, the girls saw him. "What do you want?" Noel asked warily. The man nodded at them " It's time for you to come with me." "You're being called."     Nicole and Noel cautiously followed the intruder. After he had showed her the special pendant they had been shown in the clearing and been told not to EVER forget, they decided to go with him. "Do you have a name?" Nicole called up to the man. "No." Came the bland reply from the quickly walking man clothed in black. The twins exchanged a look but shrugged and kept on following. After a few hours of walking, the girls and the man reached three hoverboards. The girls exchanged gaping- mouthed expressions. The man looked the girls in the eye for the first time. They observed that his beautiful green eyes had a toughened look. "Do you girls have decent balance?" They looked at each other, then shrugged and nodded. "Good" He helped them on and off they went.
