A lonely tree

A lonely tree

A Poem by Horseluvared

The lonely tree

The lonely tree,
It stands alone in a burned down forest,
All that's left is shrubs,
It looks lonely and sad,
In fact someone carved a sad face into it,
Awkwardly swaying in the zephyr winds,
It has watched many long years roll by,
It's weathered branches have no leaves,
It looks like it will die,
But it has for years,
It just soldiers on,
It occasionally see's the odd walker passing through the over grown path,
But apart from that it is forgotten,
Forced into oblivion,
It's a shame really,
To see it like this,
But at least I remember it.
