A champion is now goneA Poem by Niamh FlanaganThis is a poem about the great Dutch Warmblood stallion Hickstead who died a few months ago. I wanted to send this to Eric Lamaze but nah.
Now you have gone, gallop into the sky Where you have been placed No one will forget you or your beautiful bay face I will never let you go for you are in my heart you have always been mine Even from the start your mane will glide and your tail will soar You know what I am wishing for. I want you back for you were my idol I still keep you in my head and polish your saddle and bridle where have you gone where did you go Right I'll see you there when I die You won't even know.
