The doll

The doll

A Poem by Kia-chan!
"

This little doll...

"

a little girl holds her dolly.

it is warm, and soft against her cheek.

she loves it.

she takes care of it every day.

The little girl is a little older now.

She is too old to be playing with dolls.

She forgets about it.

She has better things to do.

The girl is now in college.

She has forgotten about the doll.

It means nothing to her.

After all, it is just a stupid toy.

The girl is now a woman.

She finds the doll and gives it to her daughter.

Her daughter loves it.

It is her turn to take care of it.

The daughter forgets about the doll.

She prefers makeup, and boys now.

She's too old for it, anyway.

She doesn't love it anymore.

The daughter is all grown up,

and the girl is now an older woman.

They have both forgotten about the doll.

The doll that both of them once loved.

Now the girl is an elderly woman.

She is sitting by the fireplace, next to her husband.

She is holding the doll that used to be hers.

She presses it against her cheek, like she used to do.'

Now, the girl is dead.

at her funeral, everyone comes, even her daughter.

the daughter looks into the casket at the visitation,

and see's the doll laying next to her mother.

In the end,

the doll was baried with it's origonal owner.

and both the girl and the doll,

rest in peace, together.
